I thought I should mention that I have been pumping out some sweet bass for the Wes Carroll Trio for the last couple of months. We are regularly playing most Fridays in The Empress Q Lounge from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Upcoming performances – Jan 13th, 20th, Feb. 13th, 24th, Mar. 3rd, 10th. Please come on down for a classy evening.
Wes Carroll – Guitar and Vocals
Cyril Cyrus Lojda – Drumkit
Trav Short – Upright Bass
Well it’s that time again. Time to shed the band and enjoy the uncluttered beauty of our voice and bass duo. Sara and I will be performing some of our old favourites and some new ones as well. $12.00 at the door. 7:00 p.m.
Come on out fer sum sweet jazz, tasty snacks, and refreshing drinks. It’s another fine installment of “Jazz On Tap” at the fabulous Northern Quarter. First set at 8:00, 2nd at 10:00.
Lane Arndt – Guitar
Jon Miller – Drums
Trav Short – Basseroo
That’s gonna be Lane Arndt on the guitar and Marek Tyler on the drums. I will perform bass duties. Old school Edmonton pals together at last.
No cover. But they have envelopes for tipping so bring some cash.
Started in July 2013, S.O.S. ran as a regular event at the Copper Owl for 11 months. Every (mostly) last Sunday of the month Lane Arndt (guitar) and myself hosted this super cool night of music making. With special guests every month it was a wonderful outlet for playing music like your inner child always wants to. Here is a little poster tour of some of our shows. Thanks to everyone who made it to a show. And let’s have a round of applause for the Copper Owl for making it happen.
Two nights, two friends, two dollars. Just kidding… it’s $15. (advance tix @ Larsen Music for $12!!) But we’re gonna work for it.
Wednesday nights will never be the same. At the Black Hat by Bistro 28 with Paul Laverick and Trav Short, that is.
Well… maybe a little the same. But that’s because we only know so many songs. But were adding more each week! Plus come down and eat some seriously good food.
Every couple of weeks I have the good fortune of playing with these fine gentlemen at Discovery Coffee in James Bay. That is Eric Gallipo blowing the horn and Mark “shuck ‘n jive” Sheeler on the guitar. We play jazz-like music with all our hearts.
